Dr. Cheritha Dozier- DVM/Owner

drdozierI grew up on a farm in Vernon, Oklahoma. I went to Veterinary School at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where I graduated in 2000.

I practiced at Benbrook Animal Hospital for several years and began working part time work at Southside Veterinary Clinic in 2007. It didn’t take long for me to become an associate veterinarian here working full time. In 2014 when Dr. Mehaffey decided to retire, he offered the clinic to me. I am now in my second year of ownership and I love it! We are growing and trying to keep up with all the new technology!

I have a daughter, Kalani, who is 12 years old. We have 2 dogs and one cat. In my down time, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

Tina Farquhar, Client Specialist/Office-Clinic Manager

tinaI first came to Southside in 1997. I worked here for 5 years then tried another line of work. After a few more years, I realized Southside is where I wanted to be and pets and people were my calling. So I came back to Southside in 2007 and have been here ever since. I am the smiling voice on the other end of the phone and in the lobby, most of the time. I love the pets and the people that bring them to us. Since my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, though, I tend to take a lot of trips, so if I’m not here when you come in or call, I am most likely off on another adventure!

I have been married to my best friend for 41 years and we have 2 dogs, Fannie Mae, a tri color corgi who was born here at the clinic, and a Boston Terrier mix, HB, who I rescued off the street, treated for heartworms then “fostered” and failed! We also have 7 cats! Don’t worry I’m not a hoarder. We live on 12 acres and they are happy cats, with the best of both worlds, inside loving and outside hunting! My son Mike works here in the kennel. I also have a daughter between the two children I have 5 fantastic grandchildren, 4 girls 1 one boy. The oldest is in college and the youngest started kindergarten this year. Proud is not a big enough word when I begin to talk about them! My down time is traveling with my husband or friends and loving my grandkids.

Mike Farquhar, Lead Kennel Technician

mikeI joined Southside in the summer of 2009. I am married to Kelly and we have 2 dogs; Kitty the Rottweiler and Pearl the Danedoodle. We also have four cats; Sunny, JJ, Romeo and Val who do a great job keeping the grasshopers under control at home. We have 4 children between us and enjoy camping with them and traveling to Colorado.

Christina, Lead Veterinary Technician

mikeI have been a part of the Southside Veterinary Clinic family since 2002. I started working with my twin sister Mary in the kennels shaving/bathing and taking care of boarders that stayed here at the clinic while their pet parents were away on vacation. I gained my experience working hands on assisting Dr. John Mehaffey, Dr. Carol Callaway, Dr. Cheritha Dozier and the veterinary technicians through the years. moved to Taos, New Mexico in 2009 and lived there for 5 years. During my time in Taos I worked as a veterinary technician at Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic. I moved back to my home town in 2014 and rejoined the Southside Veterinary Clinic family in 2015.

I have 2 dogs, Gramps (a malamute husky that I rescued in New Mexico) and Stuart Little ( a Chihuahua that I bottle raised from a day old). I also have 2 cats named Isaiha and Jacklynn. I enjoy spending my days outside of work with my 2 year old daughter McKayla, relaxing with a book in hand, and playing board games with my twin sister’s family.

Kathy, Veterinary Technician

kathyI live with my husband on our horse farm in Brock, Texas. We have horses, llamas, chickens, dogs and 1 barn cat. I was a veterinary technician at Benbrook Animal Hospital for 12 years until it sold. That is where I met and first worked with, Dr. Dozier. I have been working at Southside now for 2 years. I have one daughter and 2 grandchildren. They live in the Woodlands in Conroe, Texas and I travel several times a year to see them. When I am not working at work, I am working on my farm. I enjoy spending time with my animals, love gardening and watching movies.

Kevin, Veterinary Technician

I joined Southside Veterinary Clinic in 2015, after working for Berry Street Animal Hospital for over 30 years, until it closed its doors. My wife and I have 2 dogs, Vern, a corgi mix and Red, a chihuahua. We own 1 bearded dragon, and 1 tarantula! I have many clients from Berry Street that have followed me to Southside and I love seeing them here, as well as meeting and getting to know all the Southside clients.

I enjoy working outdoors, watching sports, cooking, music and collecting trains.

Paul, Veterinary Technician

paulI joined Southside Veterinary Clinic September of 2017. I grew up on a farm around Weatherford, and it was there I learned to love, interact and work with animals. I moved to Burleson in 2014, and married my wife Shelby in 2015. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan with a business degree and was blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Wesley, both in 2016. My goal at Southside is to learn both the medical and business sides of the veterinary industry and work with Dr. Dozier long term as I believe I have found my niche. We have one dog named Storm, who is a Shiba Inu mix we rescued from the animal shelter. When I am not working or spending time with my family, I like to read and play video games.
