Dr. John Mehaffey

John D. Mehaffey DVM is the owner of Southside Veterinary Clinic.  He is a 1974 graduated of Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.  He has been associated with Southside Veterinary Clinic, since 1975 and has been the owner since 1982.  Dr. Mehaffey is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, and Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association.  
      In the community, Dr. Mehaffey is active in the Fort Worth Better Business Bureau, supports and participates in the Fort Worth Independent School District's Vital Link mentoring program, supports and participates in the Fairmount Neighborhood Association spay and neuter program, supports and participates in the Johnson County Jr Livestock Association and is a lifetime member of the Dairy Shrine Club.  Dr. Mehaffey is a member of the American Hereford Association, is a director of the Texas Hereford Association, and is a member of the American Dorper Sheep Society.
     Dr. Mehaffey has been married to Dottie for 35 years.  Dottie is the teen parenting coordinator for Burleson Independent School District.  Dr. Mehaffey and Dottie have four children and three grandchildren.  They enjoy helping their grandchildren with their 4-H projects and have both been leaders and advisors.  Dr. Mehaffey is a past president of

the Johnson County 4-H booster club.  Dr. Mehaffey enjoys raising registered Hereford cattle and utilizes the latest

technology in artificial insemination and embryo transfer to attain a herd of the highest quality and desirable

genetics.  He also enjoys raising Dorper sheep and his two sheepdogs, Zorro and Queenie.  His Labradors

Hank, Buck, and Ella share the household with Domino the cat. Dr. Mehaffey, his family, and his
